Powerball and Mega Millions race towards $600 million in total jackpots

Powerball and Mega Millions players try their luck this week on combined jackpots of $593 million.

A winner in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing would have the choice of taking home the $332 million jackpot as an annuity or $141.7 million in cash.

A winner in tonight’s Mega Millions drawing would have the choice of taking home the $261 million jackpot as an annuity or $110.5 million in cash.

As both the jackpots and excitement continue to build, Powerball and Mega Millions players are still grabbing prizes. Friday’s Mega Millions drawing produced over 5,000 winning tickets in North Carolina. Monday’s Powerball drawing saw over 12,400 winning tickets.

The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 290 million. The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
