Raleigh ticket wins $1.1 million Cash 5 jackpot Friday night

Someone who bought a $1 Cash 5 ticket at a Raleigh grocery store just won a $1.1 million jackpot.

The winner bought the lucky ticket at the Food Lion on 9525 Strickland Road in Raleigh.

The ticket matched all five numbers in Friday’s Cash 5 drawing. The odds of matching numbers on all five balls are 1 in 962,598. The winner has 180 days from the drawing to claim the prize.

Since the jackpot was won Friday, Saturday’s jackpot resets to $100,000.

Cash 5 is one of six lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying their tickets at a retail location or with Online Play through the lottery’s website or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.

I think I am correct that two cousins in the Columbus/Bladen County area won a Cash 5 that was over $1 million back around 2017 or so.

We can assure you that if you move to Charlotte or Raleigh it does not become easier to win a lottery prize there. Can you say fixed.. Funny how Raleigh area or big city wins the enormous amounts, whe has the small counties like Bladen, Sampson, Duplin ever won a Cash 5 like that we all buy tickets but the big cities always has the winning one.. Hi Debbie, Every lottery ticket has an equal chance at winning, regardless of where it was purchased. If you were to move to a big city, you'd have more neighbors; if you moved to a tiny town, you'd have less. But what everyone would have in common in all those places is that each individual would have the exact same chance of winning a lottery prize!
