Wake County man enjoys $685,796 jackpot win

Vincent Ximines of Wake Forest took a chance on a $1 Cash 5 ticket and won a $685,796 jackpot.

Ximines bought his lucky Quick Pick ticket for the June 21 drawing using Online Play. The odds of matching all five balls playing Cash 5 are 1 in 962,598.

He claimed his prize Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required federal and state tax withholdings, Ximines took home $493,842.

Cash 5 is one of six lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying tickets at a retail location or with Online Play through the lottery’s website or the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. Wednesday’s jackpot is $100,000.

Wow! Congratulations on your big win! I have been playing this lottery, every since it came here to nc. Cash5, I play every day, with my special numbers. Little wins is all I've been winning. I'm hoping to win one day soon. Just a top prize of Cash5 win would suit me just fine. But even a bigger win would be the icing on the cake! Don't have the money for them scratch-off, or the digital games either. So I guess that's all is left, is Cash5 for me to play!NC Lottery

The odds of a particular trip coming out in a drawing are the same as in any Pick 3 drawing -- exactly 1 in 1,000. Those odds never change, no matter how recently or long ago a triple came out.
