Carteret County player wins $1.2 million digital instant jackpot

Wow! A lucky lottery player from Newport won a $1.2 million digital instant jackpot Monday night.

The winner played the Wheel of Fortune game for $.50 and instantly won the game’s top jackpot. The odds of that win are 1 in 100 million.

Wheel of Fortune has a progressive jackpot that keeps growing until it is won. After Monday’s big win, the jackpot reset at $150,000 and continues to climb again.

Wheel of Fortune is one of 66 games that can be played online in North Carolina as part of the lottery’s digital instant games.

The winner has 180 days to claim the prize.
